Train to be a literacy tutor with the GIRLStart (K-3rd grade) program, or a mentor in our WOW! Program (4th-5th grade). We also need people to lead the girls in fun fitness activities. Spend one day a week for 2 hours working with girls in these after-school programs held at Wilson Elementary in San Leandro and at Millsmont, Community United, Parker and Think College Now/International Community Schools in Oakland.
Help Plan Women of Taste
Help plan our annual fundraising event, Women of Taste. This event happens every September. Our steering committee starts planning in February. As a member of our steering committee, you can serve on the chefs, beverages, volunteers, silent auction, or a variety of other sub-committees. Meetings are held in the evening once per month and much of the work can be done from your home or work. Bring your event planning and social networking skills to an event that shows your commitment to the mission of Girls Inc.!

Inspire a young women by becoming an Intern Sponsor. Eureka! is a five-year program that provides leadership and educational enhancement opportunities for teen girls. The goal is to build confidence in science, math, technology, sports, personal development and careers. During the final two summers of the program, the girls participate in internships that provide work experience, professional women role models and career exposure in nontraditional fields for women. For more information read the packet.
