Girls
Inc. programming is based on the belief that young women and girls
are inherently important and benefit from programs designed to
address their particular needs. Rather than focusing on the problems
young women and girls face, Girls Inc. takes an asset-based approach,
emphasizing girls' strengths and capabilities, building competencies,
and enabling girls to meet the challenges they face.
Girls
Inc. supports and incorporates girls' ideas, perspectives, and
voices throughout program implementation, development, and evaluation.
This youth-centered approach engages girls as problem-solvers,
promotes their development, and increases their opportunity to
form supportive relationships.
Guided by our vision of empowered girls and an equitable society,
Girls Inc. has created strong partnerships with local community
organizations, schools, government, and health and juvenile justice
representatives to accomplish its mission.
Girls Inc. offers powerful solutions to the most pressing issues
facing girls today before those issues become problems.
