Annual Strong, Smart, and Bold Luncheon Raises Over $59,000

The annual Strong, Smart, and Bold Luncheon, hosted by Assemblymember Mary Hayashi, honored Olympic Gold Medalist and 2008 Dancing with the Stars Champion Kristi Yamaguchi, San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris, and Speaker of the California State Assembly Karen Bass with the 2009 Strong, Smart and Bold Award, respectively.
“We are delighted that our honorees’ contributions and achievements genuinely reflect our organization’s mission” said Linda Boessenecker, Girls Inc. of Alameda County CEO, “as well as being genuine role models that girls can aspire to emulate.”
The honorees accepted their awards and spoke at the Strong, Smart, and Bold Luncheon on April 17th at the new Cathedral in Oakland, California, which raised over $59,000 for Girls Inc.
