Congresswoman Lee supports Girls Inc!

As a member of California's Appropriations Committe, Congresswoman Lee worked to secure $18.1 million in the 2010 fiscal year for various institutions and agencies throughout the Ninth Congressional District.

Girl's Inc was awarded $250,000 for our outstanding efforts in promoting literacy and family literacy for underserved communities. Girls Inc of Alameda County provides preschoolers and their families, especially those who do not speak English developmental and age appropriate literacy programming.  By increasing family bonding and early literacy skills, participants engage in interventions that are critical for increasing school success.
