Laura Kaneko Welcomes
the First LadyAmeriCorps member Laura Kaneko of Girls Inc. of Alameda County was selected to introduce First Lady Michelle Obama during the opening ceremonies at the National Conference on Service in San Francisco on June 22nd.
Laura was selected based on her dedication to volunteering and her passion for literacy. Before introducing the First Lady, Laura spoke for 2-3 minutes about her volunteer experience at Girls Inc., what led her to AmeriCorps, including her family history, and the inspiration the First Lady has been in her life.
