On Saturday, October 1st, 2011- Girls Incorporated of Alameda County held its 20th annual Women of Taste event at the Kaiser Center Rooftop Garden. Featuring 70+ celebrated chefs, winemakers, brewmasters and more, Women of Taste boasted the best of the best in the food and beverage industry. From Wood Tavern, Pican and Brown Sugar Kitchen to Flora, Ozumo and Home of Chicken & Waffles: inspiration was squarely back on the menu. Local wineries and breweries from the Napa Valley’s St. Supery Vineyards & Cakebread Cellars to Petaluma’s Lagunitas Brewing Company were also on-hand to pour custom tastes and blends. With over 2,000 guests in attendance, this event helped raise over $200,000, benefitting Girls Inc.’s nationally acclaimed academic achievement programs for girls from underserved communities in the greater San Francisco Bay Area.
