Information Collection and Use

Girls Incorporated of Alameda County is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We maintain the privacy of our supporters through various technical means of protection. Girls Incorporated of Alameda County does not share, exchange, rent, or sell our mailing lists.
Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with an appropriate law enforcement investigation, current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our Web site.

Donations and Purchases

In order to make a donation or purchase on this Web site, a user must first complete a donation or order form, on which the user must provide contact information (like name and shipping address) and financial information (like credit card number and expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes, to fill supporters' orders and to provide donations receipts. If we have trouble processing an order or donation, this contact information can be used to get in touch with the user. This information will be used to send the user materials, a tax receipt (if a donation is made), or purchased items. Unless you indicate otherwise by checking the clearly-marked box on the purchase or donation form, the user will be added to Girls Incorporated of Alameda County mailing list. We ship purchases ourselves, and use a credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. The credit card company does not retain, share, store or use personal information for any secondary purposes.

This Web site takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When you submit sensitive information via the Web site, your information is protected both online and off-line.

When our donation or purchase form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card numbers), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry — SSL.

While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our supporters' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Finally, the servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment.
