All STARS
All STARS (Sports, Technology, Academics, Responsibility, and Sisterhood) Program is a daily after-school program that supports middle school girls, as they develop their strengths and capabilities, through daily academic assistance and enrichment activities in technology, leadership, health literacy, and sports. All STARS follows a girl-centered, youth development approach by incorporating girls’ ideas, perspectives and voices throughout program implementation and planning. By engaging girls as problem-solvers, program delivery focuses on a combination of strategies to promote girls’ development, expand their range of challenging experiences, and increase their opportunity to form supportive relationships. ACT
ACT (Advocating Change Together) Program is a three-year, hands-on advocacy and community organizing project for high school girls. ACT focuses on the overall health and well being of teenage girls. This program provides young women the opportunity to find their voice and make sure it is heard. To learn more, download the ACT PDF.
Eureka!
Eureka! Teen Achievement Program is an intensive five-year program for girls beginning the summer before eighth grade and continuing through the twelfth grade. Eureka offers girls both summer and school-year programming. During the first two summers, girls spend four weeks on a college campus participating in hands-on activities in math, science, technology, sports, personal development, and careers. For the next two summers, Eurekans participate in four week paid internships in career fields of their choice hosted by successful women professionals. During the final summer, Eureka staff supports girls in identifying and pursuing additional professional development opportunities. Eureka! school year support services include academic and college counseling, SAT preparation workshops, field trips, leadership opportunities, and weekly workshops on culture, writing, social issues, math, and science. HEART Peer-Education
HEART (Helping Everyone Achieve Respect Together) Peer-Educator Program is offered to girls ages 14 to 18 and is a girl-driven, asset-based health and sexuality education program focused on expanding and improving access to crucial, unbiased teen health and sexuality information and resources for underserved youth, so that teens can take responsibility for their own sexual health. HEART implements a unique research-based model of peer education that revolves around one-on-one peer interactions that provide information and support, and optimizes girls’ positive influence on their peers through one-on-one conversations in their own informal social networks. Girls Inc. Concordia Park Center
Girls Inc. Concordia Park Center is located in East Oakland and serves girls ages 6 to 14 with year-round programming. As with all Girls Inc. programs, Concordia Park provides research-based programming that takes a "whole girl" approach and intentionally supports girls in building skills, confidence, self-esteem, and their sense of what is possible. Every girl is empowered to become a community leader and strive for a healthy, fulfilling life through: academic enrichment; leadership and community involvement; sports, health, and fitness; and family strengthening services. Fitness
Fitness Program has three aspects: School-based Fitness Programming, Bodies in Motion, and as a component woven into all Girls Inc. programs, Girls Inc. of Alameda County offers age-appropriate programs to girls ages 5-18, and girls are encouraged to join in kindergarten and continue through their completion of high school.
