 GIRLStart
is a two-year, daily after school and summer program held at Lockwood
Elementary and Parker Elementary Schools.
GIRLStart is designed to increase school readiness and success
of first and second grade girls. GIRLStart focuses on building skills
and confidence in reading and writing, while also providing math,
science and sports experiences that promote girls' academic excellence
and their sense of future possibilities.

(510) 357-5515 ext. 218. Girls are referred to GIRLStart> through
their classroom teachers.
In order for a girl to participate in any Girls Inc. program, an
enrollment packet must be completed. Enrollment packets for all
programs except GIRLStart are available online. All programs are
free or based on a minimum charge and no girl is ever turned away
due to an inability to pay. |
