Bold Futures Mentorship Program Launch

This summer, we excitedly launched our new Bold Futures Mentorship Program, an important expansion of our commitment to supporting young people beyond high school and into college and early career. Bold Futures connects our alumnae ages 18–24 with professional mentors who can offer guidance as they explore careers, set goals, develop skills, and navigate this next stage of their lives.

We know that while the needs of our young people change after high school, the value of trusted relationships, professional networks, and a supportive community does not.

Through June 2027, mentor-mentee pairs will meet regularly and participate in guided activities focused on personal and professional growth.

In August, we welcomed our inaugural group of mentors and mentees to the Simpson Center for Girls for an orientation to learn about the year ahead, build community, and begin developing the relationships at the heart of the program. Bold Futures is made possible with support from our longtime partner Rakuten and builds on nearly a decade of partnership rooted in mentorship and career exposure. Now in its ninth year, our Future Leaders program with Rakuten and the Golden State Warriors has connected our youth with professionals across a range of industries, providing career insights, skill-building, and invaluable mentorship.

Bold Futures carries that shared commitment forward into a new stage of our alumnae’s lives. We are proud to deepen our continuum in this way and reinforce an important message to our alumnae: their connection to Girls Inc. of Alameda County, and our investment in their futures, does not end when they graduate from high school.
